Monday was my Mother and Father-in-law's 35th Anniversary! I have the best in-laws ever and I am so happy for them. Can you imagine being married for 35 years! This is one of my favourite stamp sets ever. It was one of the first I purchased when it retired close to 3 years ago. I used it A LOT when I first got it, and now I only bring it out from time to time. I will never let this set go. I have been using this layout a lot lately...it just seems to be working for me.
I wanted to use this awesome colour combo which I am in love with. Pale Plum, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. I knew these colours would be great for watercolouring...so off I went. The base of my card is Pale Plum. I used one of the stamps from the set to add some detail to the right side. Next, I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive to create a side panel. I did not want to have the dots showing on my Razzleberry ribbon, so I very carefully tied my bow and voila, no dots. This is what I really love about the new in colour ribbons.
I stamped the image on watercolour wonder paper using Stone Grey Satzon ink. I prefer this over the Jet Black as it is a little softer. I used my aqua painter and ink pads to colour the image in. I always start with the lightest colour and shade with the darker colour. The blossom is colour using Pale Plum and Rich Razzleberry. The center is coloured using Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. For the stem and leaf I used Certainly Celery and Old Olive. Tip: Rich Razzleberry is a very strong colour, when you apply it to your aqua painter, dab it on you scratch paper to make sure you have the desired colour.
After allowing the image to dry, I cut and applied a second blossom to create a 3-D effect. You cannot see it in the photo, but I added some dazzling diamonds to the dots around the flower.
I hope you like the card! Have a great day.
