More Mustard...

Before I talk about the card I wanted to let everyone know that I am VERY busy with work right now.  It is near the end of the school year which means report cards and I am transferring schools, so I have to pack up my classroom as well.  I am hoping to continue to post 3-4 times a week.  That is about all the time I have right now!

Well as you might know from my post last week, I am not to found of More Mustard.  However, I have created two card using Mustard and Plums.  I must say that I enjoy the colour more that I thought I would.  This card is the same as my first Fifth Ave. Neutrals card.

I used Perfect Plum as my base.  I stamped my flowers on the card using Perfect and Pale Plum and More Mustard.  I rounded the corners and attached it to my base.  Next I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to carefully stamp the Thank-you.  The final touch is some white satin ribbon!  Hope you like it, have a great day!

Very Neutral

Here is another clean and simple card I made in the past week.  I really love the set Very Versatile.  The simplicity and versatility of this set is awesome!  I decided to continue with my more neutral colour theme and I love the end result!

The base of the card is Kraft.  It is layered with Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Kraft.  I stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock using Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel.  Before attaching this layer to the base, I added a scallop edge detail and some Chocolate Chip ribbon.  You cannot see it but the matting layered are popped up using dimensionals.  Hoe you like the card, I am off for a family BBQ!

Fifth Avenue Neutrals 2

Well I have been on a real kick using my Fifth Avenue Floral set.  I am not sure what took me so long to order this set.  I really love it.  It is great for making quick, simple and elegant cards.  I think this weekend I am going to try some watercolouring with the set.  This is another neutrals card inspired by one my friend Martha made.

The base of the card is Chocolate Chip.    I stamped my images using Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel.  They are stamped on Whisper White card stock.  The stamped layer is attached to Chocolate Chip, and before it is adhered to some Close to Cocoa, I tied a clean Chocolate Chip bow. All of these layers are adhered to the base using dimensionals.  I thought the card needed a greeting, so I added a greeting stamped in Chocolate Chip.  It is ,layered on a 1 3/4" circle.  Hope you like the card!  Have a great night!

Not My Typical Colours!

The colour for this card are inspired by my sister Marika.  She is using this colour combination for a set of wedding invitation she is helping a friend make.  The main reason I decided to use this colour combination is as a farewell to Tangerine Tango!  I have never been that found of this colour, and I will admit that I am happy to see it go!

The base of the card is Tangerine Tango.  It is layered with Chocolate Chip, Tango and Taken with Teal.  I stamped my images (Fifth Ave. Floral) on Very Vanilla, using Tango, Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal ink.  After stamping the flowers, I used a greeting from my Birthday greeting set and stamped it in the middle with Chocolate Chip ink.  I added a scallop edge in Chocolate Chip and some Choco;ate Chip ribbon.  Although this is not my usual colours, I do like the card.  Hope you do to!  Have a great day.

An Odd (but good) Colour Combination

Each month, Heather my up-line poses a card challenge to all of her down-line.  We post a photo on her down-line blog of our card, and are entered in a draw to win FUN goodies!  I almost did not make a card for this months challenge.  I must admit, I was NOT keen on the colour challenge.  Heather asked us to make a card using Mustard (a colour I am not found of) and a purple (Eggplant, or the Plums).  I love the Plums, so I though I would be able to work with them and the mustard.  This is my creation, and I must admit, I have become more found of More Mustard.

For this card, I started by punching out 9 3/4" circles (three of each colour).  I arranged them in a square pattern, and popped them up with dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting in Perfect Plum at the bottom of the Whisper White piece.  The card needed a little embellishment.  I took to Whisper White ribbon and die it using my Perfect Plum ink pad.  This layer is mounted on More Mustard and Perfect Plum.  I adhered this to my base (Pale Plum) using dinemsionals.  Hope you like the card!  Have a great evening!

Fifth Avenue Neutrals

This card was inspired by two different sources.  The first one is my talented friend Martha.  She was over a few weekend ago stamping, and she showed my a set of cards she made using Fifth Ave. Floral (done in Neutrals) and this card seen here.  I loved the end result so much, I made the card again using a different colour combination.  I will show you that card later this week. I did not have great light in my card room today, so I will try to re-take and up-date my photo tomorrow.

This card was very quick, simple.  I started by using Fifth Ave Floral, on Very Vanilla, with Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel ink to create the stamped image.  I randomly stamped the different flowers to create my own patterned paper.  I rounded my corners and adhered it to my Kraft card base.  Using my stamp-a-ma-jig, and Chocolate Chip ink, I stamped my greeting.  To complete the card, I tied a cute bow with Chocolate Chip ribbon, and attached three cord buttons.  Hope you like the card!  Have a great day!

Clean and Simple

You may recognize the layout of this card.  I made three other cards that have the same layout, but different colours.  The layout of this card was inspired by the Clean and Simple blog.

The base of the card is Whisper White.  It is layered with Kiwi Kiss and Walk in the Park DSP.  The additional layers are Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss.  I added some Old Olive stripped ribbon to embellish this card.

The image (from Eight Great Greetings)is stamped in Kiwi Kiss ink, and is mounted on Kiwi Kiss using dimensionals!

Featured Stamper: Marika

Today's card is made by my sister Marika.  She got into card making in the past year, and she has made some stunning cards.  She made this card for my Mom on Mother's Day and I LOVED IT!!  I took a picture and here it is.

The base of her card is Baja Breeze.  It is layered with Cameo Coral and Walk in the Park DSP.  The image is a non-SU stamp Marika picked up at a small stamp store here is London.  She stamped the image on Whisper White and then again on the Coral.  She carefully cut out each flower bud and adhered them to the card.  The greeting was stamped with Coral in and is mounted on Baja Breeze.

I loved Marika's card so much, I decided to make my own version.  I used the same layout, DSP and ink colours she did.  I used my "weed" stamp from Very Versatile, and instead of a greeting, I tied some Whisper White ribbon!
