Manly Card

Well, I was playing with some of my new sets from the mini cattie on the weekend.  I also wanted to play with different colour combinations.  I thought with the simplicity of the "weed" from my Very Versatile set, it would be great for a masculine card.

The base of the card it Chocolate Chip.  Both layers are Pacific Point, and Good Morning Sunshine DSP.  I cannot believe that Pacific Point and all of the other 5 in-colours will be gone in two short months.  I have really grown to love this colour. 

I stamped the "weed" in Pacific Point.  I mounted it on Chocolate Chip and Pacific Point.  The greeting is stamped in Chocolate Chip and punched out with the word window. I mounted this on a large oval.  I added two dew drops (thanks Martha) as a final touch!  Hope you like the card!

Loving this Card...

You know when you make a card you just love?  Well, this is one of those cards!  I really love the simplicity of it, but I think is has an elegant feel.  The layout for the card I found on the Clean&Simple blog.  I am really loving that blog lately.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  It is layered with Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise and Flock Together DSP.  I attached this layer to my card before I began working on the stamped layer. 

The mat pieces for my stamped layer are Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise.  I stamped my "weeds" from Very Versatile in Tempting Turquoise and Take with Teal.  I usually test my colours on a scrap piece of paper before doing my stamping, and I found the Turquoise a little to bright.  So, I lightly stamped some of the colour off before stamping on my card stock.  It gives a slightly softer look. 

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig, and a greeting from my Very Versatile set and stamped it directly on the base of my card.  I had a thought after, that with the different greeting available in the set, you could leave the card without a greeting, and add one when you need it.  As a final embellishment (before attaching this layer to my card), I used some Tempting Turquoise ribbon and a piece of Filigree hardware (for some bling).  Hope you like the card!

Clean&Simple Sunday

For this weeks Clean&Simple Sunday card, I used a layout from a few weeks ago.  If you have not been to the Clean&Simpleblog, you should go and check it out.  They card and sketch's are very simple, and are quick to make.

The base of my card is Whisper White.  It is layered with Perfect and Pale Plum card stock.  These are two colour I LOVE, but rarely use.  I used the Big Shot withone of the textured plates on the Pale Plum card stock.  Whisper Whit and Perfect Plum make the perfect background for the stampin layer.  I died some Whisper White ribbon by running it through my Perfect Plum ink pad.  I added one piece of thew Filigree Hardware for a small amount of bling.

When I made this card, my friend Martha was over and using my Pocket Silhouette set, so I used this set, and stamped my image in Pale Plum ink.  The greeting from Very Versatile is stamped in Perfect Plum.  Hope you like the card.  Have a great day!

 

Soft Summer

Oops, I did not even realize until today that I did not post yesterday.  On the weekend, I preset all of my posts for the week, and I did not even realize I did not have a full week of posts.

This is a quick card I made using a layout from the Clean&Simple blog.  This is their Fall To Layout 4.  I have been relying on sketches a lot lately for inspirations.  I think I sent my creative buzz away to Utah with my box of Artisan Entries.  I am sure my buzz will come back soon!

The base of the card is Pretty in Pink.  The DSP layer is Sweet Always DSP that is layered on Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose.

I stamped the image using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose ink.  I layered this on Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose.  I stamped my greeting and added a little button to embellish.  Hope you like it. 

One More Trendy Trees Card

This is the last sample I will share from my Trendy Trees set.  I really love this set, and I need to use it more.  Pacific Point is a really fun Blue.  I do not use it often enough, but I love how it looks on this card.

The base of the card is Pacific Point.  It is layered with Chocolate Chip and Good Morning Sunshine DSP.  The smaller layer in the center is also Chocolate Chip and Good Morning Sunshine DSP.  I added a bow using Pacific Point striped ribbon.

I stamped my tree using Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip ink.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for all my Trendy Trees cards.  You really need that tool to line up the trunks.  Otherwise, then will not be straight.  I mounted this layer on Chocolate Chip and attached it to my card.  Have a great day!

Trees can be Red and Pink...Right?!?

When I do a class with a specific stamp set, I always like to do one card that does not fit the  norm for that set.  This shows the versatility of all of Stampin' Up!'s sets.  This layout is simple, but I love it.

The base is Pink Pirouette.  It is layered with Riding Hood Red and two different pieced of Candy Lane DSP.  I tied a piece of Riding Hood Red ribbon around this layer and attached it to my card base.

I stamped the tree in Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla card stock.  I mounted this on  Riding Hood Red and attached it to my card.  I decided to add a greeting to the card.  Using Riding Hood Red, I stamped the greeting below the tree.  Hope you like it.  Have a great day!

The 70's Called...Part 2

So, I really love this colour combination, despite it being totally 70's!  This is my another sample from my Trendy Trees class.

The base of the card is Chocolate Chip.  It is layered with Summer Sun and Good Morning Sunshine DSP.  The vertical layer is Chocolate Chip and DSP from the same pack.

I stamped my tree using Summer Sun ink at the top of the card stock (leaving room for my sentiment).  Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I added the trunk in Chocolate Chip.  This is layered on Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip.  I stamped my greeting, and layered in on a large oval (Summer Sun) and a scallop oval (Chocolate Chip).  Hope you like the card, have a great day!

Clean&Simple Sunday

It has been a while since I have really made clean&simple cards.  Over the past few months, I have found myself adding more layers (with DSP and cards stock) than I used to.  I love all of the layers of different patterned paper that add depth to cards, but I decided I need to get back to clean&simple cards at least one a week!

My inspiration for this, and a reminder that cards can be quick, clean&simple is the clean&simpleblog.  Now the cards on this site are even more simple and have few layers than mine, but old habits die hard.  For me a clean&simple card will be complete in less than 15 minutes (including cutting) and will minimal amount of layers.

For my first clean&simple Sunday card, I decided to stick with monochromatic pink tones, and use my new Soft Summer stamp set.  I LOVE THIS SET!  I chose to use a sketch I found on the clean&simple blog.

The base of my card is Pink Pirouette.  It is layered with Regal Rose and Sweet Always DSP.  I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock using my Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose ink pads.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up my stamped images.  The Whisper White card stock is popped up on Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose using dimensionals.  I added one Pink Pirouette button, and a simple greeting.

Trendy Trees Circle Card

Over the next few days, I will be sharing the samples from my Trendy Trees class.  This is a great little set and I love it!  Before I give the details of this card I should mention there is a fair amount of waste when cutting the base.

To make the base of my circle card, I scored a 8 1/2x11 piece of Kiwi Kiss card stock at 5 1/2.  I applied some temporary adhesive to the inside and back of the card stock before placing it on my glass mat.  Next I used my Circle Scissors Plus to cut the card to size.  Also using the Circle Scissors Plus, I cut two circles in Chocolate Chip and Good Morning Sunshine DSP.

My image was stamped on Whisper White card stock in Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip ink. It was punched out using my 1 3/8 cirlce punch.  This was layered on a Chocolate Chip scallop circle.  The greeting is stamped in Chocolate Chip and mounted on Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip card stock.  Once my card was assembled, I added a Kiwi Kiss button as the final touch!

Clean & Simple

I was reading some blogs this past weekend, and one of them brought me to the Clean & Simple Stampingblog.  They have a bunch of really simple sketches to use.  I chose this one hereand made three cards using it.  All use the same stamp, just different colours.  I am thrilled with the simplicity of these cards, and to make all three it only took about 20 minutes (including stamping and cutting).

All three cards use Whisper White as a base.  One of the cards I saw on the site used white as the base, and I really liked it. 

The first one uses Regal Rose and Sweet Always DSP.  All additional layers are Whisper White and Regal Rose.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink stripped.   The stamp in from Eight Great Greetings.

The second card usesSummer Sun.  The DSP is from Good Morning Sunshine.  The ribbon is So Saffron stripped.

The third card uses Bashful Blue.  The DSP is Delicate Dots (SAB).  The ribbon is Bashful Blue stripped.
