Stamp with Jodie

KWerner Colour Challenge #43

 

WOW!  Can I just say that this card to far longer to make than I ever intended and I choose a very simple layout!  It was just one of those cards.  I am happy with the final result, but it took way to long to get there.  The layout and stamp set I used was inspired by one I saw in the Stamper Showcase, on the SU demo site.  It did not have a name, so I am not sure who to credit the original design.  If you know, pass the info to me, and I will give proper credit.

The base of the card is Brocade Blue, a colour I do not think I have ever used.  I used Versa Mark and the dots background stamp from A Good Egg.

This is where the trouble started...with the cute little gumdrops from the Goody-Goody Gumdrop set.  I could not get them to line up straight, and I do not have a stamp-a-ma-jig.  So, I used my acrylic grid, and used it to guide the stamp.  They are pretty straight.  I stamped 5 of them and coloured them with my SU markers (Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue and Pumpkin Pie).  I stamped the greeting in Old Olive.  I mounted this layer on Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red.  I tied some Old Olive striped ribbon (LOVE IT) before I attached this to my base with dimensionals.

 Once I had the card assembled, I felt it needed a little more dimension.  So, I re stamped the gumdrops, colour them, and attached them  with dimensionals.  The last touch was adding some Crystal Effect to make the gumdrops shine.  I think this was the perfect last touch.

Three Little Words...

This is one of the sets from the new cattie that just arrived at my house last week!  I loved it when I first saw it in the new catalogue!  It is very simple, which I love!  I was first inspired to make this card by one I saw on Jen del Muro's blog.  When I read her post, I found out it was a sketch found in this forum on SCS.  The sketch is from Feb. 13th.  I hope you like my card!

The base of the card is Rose Red.  It is layered with Cameo Coral (a new favourite of mine) and Raspberry Tart DSP.  All of the additional layers on this card used the same card stock and DSP.  The vertical strip I used my eyelet edge punch to add some detail.  Can you tell I love this punch?

I stamped the Three little words stamp in Rose Red on Whisper White card stock.  I coloured in the "T" with my Pretty in Pink marker.  "You, you, you" is stamped in Rose Red on Whisper white as well.  I punched it out and layered it on a small and large oval punches.  I added two silver brads as the final detail.  Now, would this little layernot look super cute on a scallop oval punch?  Well, in a few weeks I can do that, and SU had a scallop oval punch in the Occasions mini!  I am so excited about that punch!

With a Cherry on Top

So, I intended to make this an Easter card, but it took a quick turn, when I as saw my Goodie Goodie Gumdrops set sitting out on my desk.  I suddenly knew I had to use the little Sundae, instead of a Stamp from my A Good Egg set!  I am thrilled with the result!

The base of this card is Pretty in Pink.  It is layered with Almost Amethyst and Tea Party DSP.  That is layered with, you guessed it, Almost Amethyst and Tea Party DSP.  The horizontal strip uses the same card stock colours.  I used my Eyelet Edge punch, and actually made a boo boo.  I did not cut my card stock to the correct size before I used my punch.  The result I like, it does not show all of the detail from the punch, and I think it has a nice effect! Some 1/4" Pretty in Pink ribbon finishes this layer.

 

Now for my Sundae...first I stamped the cherry at the top of some water colour paper.  I used a sticky note, and stamped the cherry again and cut it out.  I used this to create a masking piece.  I stuck this little piece over the cherry before I stamped the sundae.  I stamped my sundae using Stone Gray Stazon.

I decided this little sundae would be perfect for water colouring.  I started with the ice cream.  I coloured it all in using my Pretty in Pink ink pad and aqua painter.  To add some highlight, I colour around the edges with Regal Rose.  I colour the cherry with my Rose Red ink.  For the dish, I used my Almost Amethyst marker and coloured around the edges of the dish.   I used my aqua painter to blend in the colour.  Now you cannot really see it in the image, but my cherry has some Crystal Effects on it to make it sparkle!

Into the Soft Subtles...

  Well, it is getting to be that time of year...Soft Subtle time!  I have not used there colours in a long time, and I do love them!  This new DSP pack just screams spring and Easter to me.  I cannot wait to try an Easter card with this paper and my good egg set...I think I will be sitting down at my desk when I am done this post, and putting something together!

The base is Lavender Lace.  It is layered with So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Tea Party DSP.  The horizontal strip it Lavander Lace, that I punched with my new Eyelet punch (LOVE IT!!), Pretty in Pink and Tea Party DSP.  I added some Pretty in Pink ribbon.

Now when I started stamping, I first stamped my Pretty in Pink part of my flower.  I used my Lavender Lace marker to colour the outline of the image (I do not have that colour ink pad).  The greeting is stamped with Lavender Lace as well.  I assembled this layer, and realized it still needed something else.  I pulled out my Button Latte...and voila  three buttons made my card complete.  Let me know what you think of this colour scheme!

Happy Everything!

 Happy Everything is one of my most used and well loved stamp sets. The rubber and the blocks are stained, and I have used it a ton!  This set is great when you pair ti with another one of my favourites, Pocket Silhouettes.  These two sets together create an elegant and simple Birthday card.

The base is Pink Pirouette and is layered with Regal Rose and Sweet Always DSP!  I love this DSP.  I has to be one of my all time favourites!The vertical panel is Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette and Sweet Always DSP.

I stamped the background image from Pocket Silhouettes in Pink Pirouette, then I inked up the Happy using my Regal Rose ink.  I stamped the Birthday in Regal Rose on Pin Pirouette, then punched it out with my work window punch.  After mounting it to my stamped layer, I added two silver brads.  I hope you like it!  Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

Treat Box

 I made this treat box last week for SCS technique loves challenge.  The template can be found on SCS.

The box is made with Real Red card stock.  I printed the box template onto my card stock, then I scored and cut where needed. I added some Coral Cameo and Real Red ribbon to jazz up the box.

I stamped the cupcake on watercolour paper and used my Real Red and Coral Cameo ink pads with my aqua painter to colour in my image.  I mounted this on Real Red and Coral Cameo.

I may be only posting a few times a week for the next week or two, as I have report cards due soon, and they take a lot of time.  I am hoping to get some stamping in soon, and have some new projects to show!  Have a great day!

 

KWerner Colour Inspiration #42

 

It has been a few weeks since I have done one of Kristina Werner's colour challenges.  I really like to do colour and sketch challenges.  They get me out of my normal colour/card design routine.  When I saw this colour challenge this week, I knew immediately that I would be using the little owl from my Goodie Goodie Gum Drops set.  I just got this set last week, and I love it.  It is a very cute set!  Now, I do admit that this card is a little on the green side, but I wanted to use some of my new goodies (cord brads and Kiwi Kiss ribbon).

When I started this card, I knew I would be using some Kiwi Kiss DSP, ribbon and brads.

The base of my card is Kiwi Kiss.  It is layered with More Mustard and two different strips of Kiwi Kiss DSP.  One is from Good Morning Sunshine and the other is from Urban Garden.  I used my Kiwi Kiss Ribbon to hide my seam between the two DSP strips.  I punches out three 3/4" circle in More Mustard  and attached them to the card.  Next I added my Kiwi Kiss Brads.  Now, If you have not touched or seen these brads/buttons, you need to order them now!  They rock!!!  They are really soft and come in 6 great colours.  

Now for the little owl.  I stamped him first on water colour paper with my Stazon Jet Black ink.  I set him aside to dry for a few minutes.  While he was drying, I cut my layers for him.  First I started with some Really Rust, then Kiwi Kiss and the last layer is More Mustard.  I decided the Mustard layered needed a little more detail, so I used my scallop edge punch to add some detail to the bottom of the layer.  The owl is colour in using my SU markers (More Mustard and Really Rust), Kiwi Kiss ink and my aqua painter. I used my Summer Sun marker to colour his beak.  Now, I did not add them, but I do think this little guy would be really cute with some googlie eyes!

Bright Cupcakes Card!

  Just a quick post today before I head out for my spa day!  I thought my new Pink Flamingo DSP would look great with my Crazy for Cupcakes set.  Now this card is VERY bright, but I love how it turned out!

The base is Coral Cameo.  All of the card stock and DSP panels are Real Red and Pink Flamingo DSP.  I added a Real Red ribbon to one of the smaller panels.

I stamped my cupcakes using basic black.  I coloured them in using Real Red, Coral Cameo and Chocolate Chip.

Have an Ice Day!

More Animal Crackers!  Still love this set!  It is my third favourite of the new cattie, preceded by Trendy Trees (#1) and Cheep Talk. 

  This card is much cuter in real life.  Sometimes photo's do not do the cards justice.

The base of the card is Tempting Turquoise.  The two pattern layers are both Whisper White and Pink Flamingo DSP.

I stamped the image in Basic Black, and added a little highlighting on the ice cube with my Tempting Turquoise marker.  Once I had the card assembled, it still needed a little something.  I would have added some Tempting Turquoise ribbon, but mine had not arrived, so I used two Baja Breeze buttons.  Close enough!  

Tomorrow is going to be fantastic.  My birthday is on the 23rd.  Sooo, tomorrow we are celebrating my birthday tomorrow night.  During the day, I am having a full spa day.  Starting with an over due trip to the hair salon.  Then, I will be off the the spa to have a manicure (and yes, all of my nails have broken in the past week...SUCKS) and the day will finish with a trip to the MAC counter to have my make-up done.  Bring on the fake lashes...I love MAC!  Have a great day, check back tomorrow, ase I will pre-post a card.  Might have to have a birthday theme!

Good Egg Card #1

  Here is the first of three cards that fit in my Good Egg Basket Bag.

The base of this card is So Saffron.  It is layered with Bashful Blue, So Saffron and retired Cutie Pie paper.  Like many people, I was trying to use of some of my retired DSP, but I go impatien, and cut it up into 6x6 swatches, they will be door prizes at the upcoming fundraiser (Feb 27).  Now I have lots of room for new DSP.  I am going to try and hold off for some that will hopefully be in the Spring Mini.

The egg and the chick are both stamped in Watercolour Wonder paper. For the egg I used my Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and So Saffron ink, and aqua painter to colour the image.  The chick is coloured using my So Saffron and Bashful Blue markers.  Hope you like it.  I will share the other two cards later!
