Clean and Simple

  Yesterday on SCS, the limited supply challenge was to make a clean and simple card.  Normally I would say most of my cards are fairly simple, but it was nice to make a quick, clean and simple card.  This card took about 10 minutes to make (including cutting).

The base of my card is Pink Pirouette and is layered with Chocolate Chip and Sweet Always DSP.  The layout from this cards is from one of the UStamp projects.  For more information about UStamp, visit Heather's blog.  I added a Chocolate Chip ribbon, as I thought the card needed a little embellishment.

My image was stamped first in Pink Pirouette, then in Chocolate Chip.  I stamped the greeting on my card base before I added my completed layer.

Sweet Treats

  I am SUPER DUPER excited about this box today.  Now, I know it looks a lot like my Hugs and Kisses box...but wait until you see what I have added to make it a little different.  I made this box to give to my husband Clint.  I think I will slip it into his lunch bag one morning for him to find when he is at school (he is a teacher as well).

This box is made from the same template as my Hug&Kisses box.  I made this one out of Riding Hood Red card stock.  The belly band that holds it closed is Pink Pirouette, layered with Candy Lane DSP.  I stamped the little birds onto Very Vanilla card stock.  I did colour them first with my blender pen and inks pads, but I was not happy with my colouring.  So, I stamped the birds again onto Candy Lane DSP, cut them out and attached them.

 

When you open the box, look what you see.  A window that show all of the sweet treats  inside.  Before I assembled my box, I punch a 1 3/4" circle out of my card stock.  Then I attached a piece of acetate (overheard sheets) to the inside.  I let it dry before I assembled the box.  I am thrilled with the look.

 

 

I wanted to include a little card with this treat box, so I made an itty bitty card.  It is little.  2.25"x2.25".  The base is Riding Hood Red, layered with Pink Pirouette and Candy Lane DSP.  I added the little stamped image and Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon.  I will write a little not to Clint on the inside.

Cards for the Football or Basketball Lover

I have two card to share today.  They both use the same layout and colours, but have two different stamped images (football and basketball).  I was looking at cards on

SCS, and I saw this card here.  I loved the layout, and the torn edges.  I knew I would case the card.

Both card use Kraft as the base.  Before assembling my cards, I stamped the greeting, using Chocolate Chip ink. They are layered with Chocolate Chip and Kraft (again) that I stamped with my Cheesecloth (Chocolate Chip ink) bbackground stamp.  I use 1/4" Chocolate Chip Ribbon on both cards.

I stamped both images on Whisper White.  The footballs in Chocolate Chip ink, and the basketballs in Tangerine Tango ink.  I mounted these on Chocolate Chip and attached them to my card. 

These cards took no time at all, and would be great for any sports lover!  Have a great day!

Man Birthday Card

My brother-in-law, Barclay recently had his birthday.  He loves beer, so I was thrilled to have this stamp set.  I knew I could make the perfect card for him!

 My card base is Kraft.  I layered it with Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, and Spring Break DSP (retired).  I tore the edges for a rough look.  I have done this on a few cards recently, and I really like the effect. Before adhearing it to my card base, I added some Old Olive ribbon.

I stamped the beer mug on Kraft card stock using Basic Black ink.  I colour them in using Summer Sun, and added a little highlighting with More Mustard.  I used liquid applique to make the top of the mug look frothy.  I attached them to Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.  I hope you like it!

If a Bee can be PINK...

So, can a bear.  I love this little bear from my Under the Stars set.  He is super cute, and really fun to watercolour.  I have been a a watercolouring kick lately.

 I know I have used this layout a lot lately, but it works for me.  When I fin a layout I like, I keep using it. 

The base of the card is Rose Red.  It is layered with Pink Pirouette, and Sweet Always DSP (I love this paper and I am so happy it is in the new Spring/ Summer Cataolgue).  I used Chocolate Chip ribbon to cover the seam of the two DSP pattern meeting. 

I cut the watercolour paper out using my Nesties.  I stamped the bear using Stone Gray Stazon.  I forgot to stamp the image first (to allow the ink to dry), so I dried it with my heat gun.  I started by colouring his belly first with Close to Cocoa.  Then, I coloured the full bear in using Pink Pirouette and added shading with Regal Rose.  I love how he turned out!

Getting Ready for Summer...It Can't Come Soon Enough!!!

  In the spirit of summer (which I realize is still months away) and the colour pink.  Here is my summer time, girlie drink card.

The base of the card is Pink Pirouette and is layered with Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette and Sweet Always DSP.  I tore the edges of each layer before I adhered them together. I added some Pink Pirouette Ribbon.

I stamped my image on Whisper White card stock using Basic Gray ink.  Next I used my SU markers (Rose Red, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery) and my blender pen with my Pink Pirouette ink pad to colour in the image.  I layered these onto Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose.

This card makes me think of summer.  I hope the snow melts soon!  I am tired of my boots and I would like my flip flops back!  Have a great day!

Ice Cream Card

My friend and up-line Heatherand a another talented demo from the US Dawn, are running an on-line stamping course called USTAMP.  This course is very fun.  Heather and Dawn post projects, I can up load my photo's of projects I have re-created and we have these CRAZY on-line chats once a week.  If you want more information about USTAMP, you can visit Dawn or Heather's blogs.

One of the first card idea's on USTAMP was a ice cream card by Heather.  She made her card full sized.  I do not have a circle cutter, so I had to make my card work using my 1 3/4" punch.

To make my cone, I started with a small scrap of Pretty in Pink card stock. I punched along the edge with my Curly Label punch. Then I punched the top out with my 1 3/4" circle punch.  I was careful not to punch off the detail that will be the bottom of the ice cream ball.  After I was happy with the shape of the ice cream, I stamped the dots on with Chocolate Chip ink.

The base of the card is Pretty in Pink.  I sponged all of the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.  I layered my base with Chocolate Chip and Frosty Day DSP.  The greeting is stamped on Pretty in Pink and punched out using my word window punch.  I added some silver brads for additional embellishment.  The final touch is a Pretty in Pink ribbon.  I used dimensionals to pop up the ice cream cone.  I will continue to post some of my USTAMP creations as I make them!

The Last Two Cards

Here are the last two cards that fit in my 3x3 card box.  I love making boxes, and I love my Love You Much bundle.  So I put them together.

  These are the cutest birds ever.  Well, the new Cheep Talk birds are pretty cute.  I will let you know my final verdict when they arrive and I get a change to play with them.

The base of this card is Riding Hood Red.  It is layered with Pink Pirouette and Candy Lane DSP.

I stamped the birds on Very Vanilla, and coloured them using my blender pen and Riding Hood Red ink.  They are layered on Rinding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette card stock.  I made a little ribbon tab with Riding Hood Red ribbon.  Please ignore the colouring, my blender pen was not behaving.

The base of this card is Close to Cocoa.  It looks dark in the photo.  It is layered with Very Vanilla and Candy Lane DSP.  I attached the Chocolate Chip ribbon before attaching this layer to my card.

I stamped the heart on Pink Pirouette, using Close to Cocoa ink. Using my blender pen and Riding Hood Red ink (SU really needs to make in-colour markers!!!).  I carefully cut the heart out and attached it using dimensionals.

Taylored Expression Sketch Challenge #52

The base of my card is Pink Pirouette.  It is layered with Riding Hood Red and Candy Lane DSP. 

 

I stamped my cupcake on an oval (I cut using my Cricut), in Basic Gray.  I stamped the cupcake two more times on Pink Pirouette card stock and Candy Lane DSP.  I carefully cut the pieces out and glued them to the oval.  I used Crystal Effects to attach some Heart Spangles (my mom bought them for me two Christmas' ago...I have no idea where she got them).

The final touch is two Pink Pirouette buttons.  I hope you like my card!  Have a great weekend.

The Box Holds...

  Remember this box from yesterday?  Well...it holds four, 3x3 cards.  With Valentines Day quickly approaching, I knew I had better get going on some little 3x3 cards.

I made all of my cards using my Love You Much Bundle.  I love everything about this bundle.  The DSP rocks, the stamp set is very fun (and my first SU Valentines set) and what is more fun than the three heart punch.  I could go on forever about this bundle.  I LOVE IT!

I will share 2 of the cards today, and the other 2 tomorrow.

For this card, I used Riding Hood Red as the base.  It is layered with Very Vanilla, and Candy Lane DSP.  Before attaching this layer to my card, I tied a bow using Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon.

I stamped my image on Very Vanilla in Close to Cocoa.  The image is coloured using a blender pen and my Riding Hood Red ink.  After punching the image out with my 1 1/4" circle, I layered in on a Pink Pirouette 1 3/8" circle and a Riding Hood Red scallop circle.

 

 

 This card is made with a Pink Pirouette base.  It is layered with Riding Hood Red, and 2 pieces of Candy Lane DSP.  I used Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon to cover the seam where the DSP meets.

I stamped the greeting in Close to Cocoa right on the Pink Pirouette DSP.   One little heart (punch out using the three heart punch) is the final touch.
